William Henderson settled in and became the city's first postmaster.
When Old Hickory Dam was finished in 1954, the city began to grow into
the most populous city of Sumner County. The beautiful lake offers not
only lake front home sites, but other wonderful water sport
activities. It is no wonder that some of the most famous country music
stars call Hendersonville home. Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty put
Hendersonville on the map years ago, but now teen sensation, Taylor
Swift calls Hendersonville home along with other luminaries like The
Oak Ridge Boys, Marty Stuart and Ricky Skaggs.
