Davidson County with an approximate population of 600 thousand, is home to the city of Nashville, Tennessee.  Major Nashville real estate communities include Bellevue, Green Hills, Hermitage, Belle Meade, Donelson, and Goodlettsville. The top Employers are State Government, Vanderbilt University, Federal Government, Metro Schools and HCA.  Some of the major annual events include CMA Musical Festival in June, Fourth of July festivities, Music City Bowl in December, the Country Music Marathon in April, and Iroquois Steeplechase in May.

Major attractions include Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, The Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson,  Frist Center for the Visual Arts and Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the new fabulous Greek revival concert hall. The NFL  Tennessee Titans play at LP Field downtown on the Cumberland River, and the NHL Predators play  at Sommet Center.

Davidson County is also home to Percy Priest Lake in the Donelson/Hermitage area.  Nashville International Airport is located in the Donelson area, on highway 40 and employs many Nashvillians. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's sprawling technology headquarters is in Hermitage. Opry Mills Mall is a popular place to shop with families, and Bellevue is home to one of Nashville's landmark restaurants, The Loveless Cafe.

Trendy shops make up the Mall at Green Hills, and pricey homes make this one of the premier real estate neighborhoods in Davidson County. Commercial development is thriving with the recent opening of Whole Foods and the Hill Center, with The Cheesecake Factory, a new Trader Joes. Nordstrom is on the horizon at the Green Hills Mall in Green Hills.

Davidson County has 137 public schools, 46 private schools with a combined enrollment of almost 100 thousand students. It is also home to several colleges and universities, including Vanderbilt University.
